Fall System Winterizing  ~

Before a Minnesota winter arrives we make sure your system is properly winterized. Damage can be done to the PVC pipes if not all the water is properly drained. Freezing can occur and rupture the pipe walls. Freezing water in the backflow assembly will damage the internal components and can crack the brass body. Once the water has been removed the backflow device is checked to ensure all trapped water has escaped from the upper areas.

During this visit to your property we will perform the following:

Completely evacuate all the standing water in your irrigation system with the proper air volume and pressure using a commercial air compressor.

  • Properly drain any remaining water in your main irrigation water supply pipe.
  • Turn off and place a tag on your main irrigation water supply valve. To ensure this is not turned on during the winter months.
  • Determine if there are any needed repairs for the start-up of the next season. This helps us prepare for an easy flow into the spring.
